Ready to Roll!

First I would like to say how concerned I am about the hurricane destruction from Harvey and Irma. My heart goes out to those affected and I believe that, although it seems difficult now, things will turn around and you will be able to rebuild bigger and better! The cruise I am going on in ten days has been switched from it's Eastern Caribbean destinations (US Virgin Islands, British Virgini Islands, and Bahamas) to a Western Caribbean path. Our new ports include Honduras, Belize, and Mexico.  I have to admit that I am even more excited about these ports since I have never been to these places, but am excited to see the rainforest and ancient ruins, as well as the beach!  I am grateful that I have this amazing opportunity. Today I was assured that the money I spent reserving my excursions from the eastern islands will be refunded so that I can choose western ones.  I was also notified that our hotel before the cruise will reopen on Monday. I was very productive today too

Book Win, Volunteer Thanks, New Friend, Invitation

I woke up this morning to two very nice e-mails.  The first said that I was a winner of a book in an Amazon Giveaways contest.  The second e-mail was from a spay-neuter organization I volunteer with.  It said that my work had great results in the community, thanked me, and cheered me on!  It has been rare that I have ever been appreciated personally for volunteer work with past organizations.  I currently volunteer for two animal organizations and I feel both do a good job of commending their volunteers! Today D and I went to IHOP for lunch, and ended up speaking to a wonderful older lady from Boston, who lives here now.  She had just adopted a puppy and showed us pictures.   We ended up inviting her to sit with us, and found ourselves talking for over 2 hours.   We gave her our information so we could keep in touch and perhaps have coffee in the future.   It’s so nice to meet new friends unexpectedly like that! D and I also got an invitation for Thursday to see a m

Earlier this year when I signed up for the NationalSweepstakes Convention Cruise , I was corresponding with another lady who will be on the cruise.  I met her through the convention website.  I last wrote to her the day before I left for my trip to London at the beginning of May.  Then I did not hear from her again. So today, after three months, I was so pleasantly surprised to get a nice e-mail from her.  She wanted to join me on one of my shore excursions and to meet up at the convention.  She also told me she bought a copy of my book.  Although she has not read it yet, I certainly appreciate the support! The other nice thing that happened this morning was I won a Steam Key for my husband from an online contest. But the greatest thing that happened today was finally making progress toward getting help for my apparent neuromuscular disease.  I got two referrals from my current neurologist’s office, one to a local doctor and one to Scripps .  Also, I got a referral

A Friendly Visit and a Congratulations E-mail

I had a very nice visit with my good friend "A" and her lovely granddaughter "K" today.  A brought me cheesecake and kept me company this morning as I was not feeling well enough to leave the house. K colored me a very nice new picture which has gone on the fridge with the others. I found out that K had her birthday yesterday, so I invited them to see Despicable Me 3, my treat with the movie vouchers I won last week.  I am very much looking forward to our outing this coming week. ( Movie Website) I also recieved an e-mail notice today that I had won a monthly prize in a Facebook contest that I entered.  I will be receiving an art postcard giftset. I am binge watching a new Netflix show called "The Ranch" which is a great escape.  I'm already on season two and just started a few days ago! ( The Ranch Official Site ) When my husband "D" and I went to the grocery store today, I saw a lovely bouquet of green and purple flowers.  Since I h
